Most people visit Viñales as a day trip from Havana. I think that's a mistake.
In this video I spend a full day in Viñales with Osmany, a local guide who takes me to places I never would have found on my own, including El Paraíso Agroecologico, a 15-year-old farm-to-table restaurant with the best views in the valley, a traditional Cuban breakfast at a local home, and Don Tomás, the oldest house in the city dating back to 1889.

We also deal with a 24-hour nationwide power outage and I share what it actually looks like to travel Cuba when things go sideways — and why flexibility is the most important thing you can pack.
